Unity Running Really Slow

I have an HP Pavillion

Laptop, 2ghz Intel core 2 duo cpu, 2gb ram NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS with 1gb graphics ram and Vista.

Unity runs really really slow. The worst time was 5 minutes to load the colour dialog. I tried reformatting the hard drive and it makes no difference. Editor quality is on dastest

Most other things work really fast.

I found the problem! Open task manager and go to processes tab. End anything that is not essential to the running of windows. The problem on my computer was HP Quickplay
