Unity should avoid implicit affiliation to them by tags, eg Guidance Counsellor

There are badges one can earn, eg Guidance Counsellor. They show up as tags next to the user name. However especially for users new to the discussion platform this rather looks like and assigned role. Assigned by Unity. Unity may not always want to be affiliated with that, especially not sharing their opinion.

As such I rather recommend to use different terms which are less affiliating for Unity (Solution Master, etc) or a points system rather than having such wording in a tag.

Example: A user having the tag Guidance Councellor attached may claim that selling CC0 content is allowed on the Unity Asset Store. Readers may believe that, especially because of the tag. Well, it’s not allowed. Such guidance / councel is bad. That’s a realistic example. Not only was the asset removed, Unity removed the entire publisher account. Such kind of tag can be of consequence, especially for publishers.

Or just remove this whole badge thing in general and instead indicate how many solutions by that user have been marked as accepted with a solid number. This whole “let’s gamify everything” idea should have been left in 2010 where it belongs.

Certainly that particular Badge is questionable to show next to a name.
“10 replies marked as solutions”- well OK that is good, but does not mean they are gonna be the one to guide you in all things!
The badges should be hidden behind closed doors, the old forum relied on post count to give you a clue who you are talking to and that was not so terrible as you can tell if they are a newbie or someone who has been around the block, & forum, with Unity.

Or just allow you to mark your experience level on your badge
