Hi,
I’ve seen the Student One Year license at Studica, but it is watermarked and can’t be used for commercial purposes. Is there a commercial version somewhere like this? Is there maybe an alternative? The 75$ a month deal seems good, but requires a 12 month contract and totals 900$ (I can get the perpetual commercial for less). I’m looking for a license of a year tops.
Thanks,
Kajos
Use the free version.
That’s of no use to me as I need features only the Pro version delivers.
student and commercial don’t go together. You are one or the other.
There is no sneaky backdoor to getting pro.
That’s not true: http://www.studica.com/unity/unity-pro-4-student-commercial.html
Sorry to say, unless you’re a career student or educator, you’ll have to stump up the old fashioned way like the rest of us
Can someone elberate on the student commercial license?
For example lets say:
Im a second grader and I buy the student commercial license. Can I use it for the rest of my life at home and just not in a studio, or do I have to stop when I graduate?
You need to be in middle school or higher. It says it has a perpetual license, which is supposed to mean that you have the license forever.
Wow. I am blown away. Seems like a massive loophole to me. I should of got the educator one since I work at a museum instead of paying full price.
Their “who can order” page sucks.
Who can buy this and who can’t??
They also offer an academic licence which I assume can only be used for educational purposes.
Student/faculty commercial does exist as linked above, if you are having trouble with deciding what Unity version would be best for you, you can contact our sales team here Unity Customer Service: Technical Support & Training | Unity
It’s a perpetual license. Studica own databases of students and can only sell to people they can confirm are students. Also, these student versions have a single activation only, not the two that you get from our web store. The thinking is that students who can afford multiple computers can also afford regular Pro versions of Unity.
They have these elgibility guidelines for student versions of autodesk software, do the same restrictions apply for unity? I can’t find anything on their unity page.
I’d imagine the same applies to Unity student commercial licenses. The rules vary by country. In the UK, the following page is helpful:
Well, that whocanorder page only tells you that you need to provide proof… which is obvious.
When you say single activation only, you mean i can have my Unity license activated in only one pc right?
If i need to reinstall my Windows, i can do it with no problems?
There’s this “return license” button so you can uninstall the license to put it on another computer
@Zeblote thanks for the info.
Still waiting for the price quote from Studica guys.
Anyone knows what’s the price range for Unity 4 Pro for an University Student?
$130 for one year (non commercial) or $750 for a perpetual commercial license:
