I love the asset store , but when it comes to : empty , misleading and Stolen packs , i just lose it .
I’m paying money to both Unity technologies and the asset seller , unity takes fees for each transaction.
i come across alot of stolen content .
but when i request a refund this is what i get …
it’s absurd , to have about 50 asset pack that you dont want or not gonna use . and you cant get a refund .
it’s absurd to buy something it turns out to be stolen then unity remove it and you dont get a refund , you will have to ask the dev and beg for mercy to get your refund.
I swear to god or whatever you believe in , sometimes i would go on days without food (maybe eat a slice of bread or two) because i do spend my hard earned money on assets that someone else put a lot of hard work into it , and i would like to support them . it doesn’t take a genius to just go on torrents and be a a thief .
No no matter what happens i will always buy and pay .
it’s been 2 years now , i did not get a single refund .
how long before this will be an class action lawsuit ? lawyer will swarm you on this you know ? learn from valve .
learn from it , and start refunding ppl , please unity don’t screw this up .
Why would you buy 50 things that you dont even want and aren’t going to use and then expect to get a refund just because you can’t control your spending? I think you need to seriously reconsider some priorities.
i do work 2 jobs , thank you for your concern . i do truly appreciate it .
I just love Making Games , that’s my dream , and it comes first .
the 50 i’m talking about are stolen from Devs like you and me , or just misleading. it’s your right to get a refund .
If you go to a Mall and walk into Billy’s Shoe Emporium, then buy Super Shoes 14, go home and wear them, then find out that Billy’s Shoe Emporium closed because it stole all of it’s merchandise from Nike then would you expect the Mall to reimburse you?
Thats Unity’s role. They’re the Platform and Asset Publishers are the Boutique stores. The content isn’t Unity’s property, but they’ll evict tenants that are illegally selling content because that’s the extent of their responsibility and power. They basically just rent out space for tenants.
So then the conversation is between you and them, not here. Why not ask them why they asked you to create a refund ticket if they can’t do anything about it? That seems like the prudent next step.
the issue is the Refund ! , something need to be done with it ,
The Unity asset store is also curated, That means that every asset is reviewed by unity before it is placed in the market.
Unity take fees from both parties to make sure that refunds happen

“Many of us have bought something only to later decide it’s unsuitable or not needed and shops are under no obligation to take your goods back, just because you’ve changed your mind. But even when you don’t have legal rights, plenty of companies do STILL give refunds even if the item isn’t faulty.”
They need to fix that , i love unity and i support them , but you need to say this is not right !
Hold the money , don’t just give it to any thief . so when i ask for a refund i would get it , make a policy of 30 days , do something .
yes , but the Dev , seller … Broke the agreement by Selling stolen stuff
I’m out of here , back to making a game , cheers for the talk , and i would keep hoping something is done about it
To receive a refund, you will need to contact the Asset developer first to request one. Once the developer grants you a refund, he needs to contact Unity Technologies to give them the authorization to refund you.
That’s the usual way.
In your case, the Asset in question has been removed for stolen content reasons (as stated in the email) and John told you to ask the Asset developer for a refund. I would email John back, telling him what happened (i.e telling him that the Asset Store Team told you to fill out a form) and see what happens next.
