Unity Testimonials

Hey Everyone,

I’m wondering if any game developers out there would like to write some testimonials as to how great Unity is.

I have a client thats looking for some ‘input’ about Unity other then our own.

So any blurbs from other developers would be awesome.
Please include some form of contact information as well, for they may like to email you for future work in Unity.

You might want to check this thread over on the unity artist forum:

And you will find plenty here as well.

I am a Unity customer with currently 2 licenses and an Asset server (running in our Enterprise Cloud platform http://www.theenterprisecloud.com I may add). Our task was to create a 3D virtual tour of our facilities and technologies. Doing our analysis with a handful of game engines (Crystal Space, DX Studio, Horde3D, Nebula Device, Orgre3D, Panda3D, Quake Engines, ShiVa, and UnReal) we found Unity to offer more platforms, using less requirements, more flexibility, etc. Only disadvantage was the Mac platform (since we are a PC based business). Having a game production background I put my ass on the line to acquire the engine and Mac systems and another artist (with Maya and Adobe Suite). I also threw a curve ball to Unity since I couldn’t purchase with anything but an Amex card or a PO (our corporate procedures). Well Higgy-baby stepped up and allowed us to get a license while the check was “in the mail”. To make a LONG story short, we displayed our 3 months of work to our VP’s, who were so impressed with our progress (on schedule and better than anticipated), we then presented to the Board of Directors. After that meeting on Halloween, we were told they never smiled in Unity before (pun intended). Not to mention our ability to port to the iPhone so Execs can talk and show our cutting edge technology on a cutting edge device. I can easily state in the 10+ years of gaming development and production the Unity3D Engine enables us to produce a high quality product that we can deliver to a universal audience as well as have robust pliable content (add/remove scenes from an executable). We also have our internal data on the 3D tour tied into our content database so marketing can control the information on a 3D plane without ever touching the engine or recompiling (using the html_texture code).

Please have any future customer contact me for input. Not all of our experience has been perfect but the few flaws or needs do not outweigh or compare to the benefits of Unity3D, even if you have to purchase hardware and software for it.
