Unity - The Scene View

So I am going through the Unity Beginners Tutorial.

In this thread, it teaches how to operate and navigate the Scene View, and how to manipulate objects.

Have a question — how do you create and add the soldier figure in the diagram (the one that can be rotated and manipulated) ?

Also, are there other figures that can be created or are already stored in the panel ? Like tanks, fairies, dragons etc ?

The first game I wanna make is an RPG similar to Baldur’s Gate — medieval knights, sorcerers , witches, queens, different characters, an adventure party, magic and also quests. I want it to be really well designed and have better graphics , 3d realistic.

Then I will come up with a prototype , get users to test, get feedback , iterate and so on and so forth …

Thanks alot …

Keep working your way through the tutorials. You have a long road ahead of you to produce something that polished.

(FYI, Baldur’s Gate was developed by a team of 60 people, and took a total of 90 person-years of development.)

Sure, I will hire programmers when the time comes , but I intend to write the first prototype myself…

Is there a section on how I can add, edit and create the figures I need – I need towns, buildings, knights, princesses , magicians , serfs, quests etc and the ability to edit them.

Appreciate if you can point me in the right direction and section. (which section?)Thanks alot …

Models are typically created in third party software and imported into Unity. Check out blender, autodesk, maya and the like.

Also look through the Asset Store. You can find many models there good enough to start with, at least.
