Unity to NATIVE HTML5 SOLUTION (SOLVED!!!!) :)

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/frostio/frost-unity2html5-toolkit?ref=category <------ KICKSTARTER

Developers go to the site i listed above and check this out. Some guy developed a plugin to unity to convert the code to html5 to run in any browser including mobile browsers, Yes including iOS!!! WHAT!!! :open_mouth:

WE SHOULD SUPPORT THIS!!!

Yeah uh… no thanks than i’d rather take unity’s coming webGL export for a lower price and from the engine developer self.

The price is steep when you add the 1.5K for unity to it!

For now it would also be a hard platform to make money from.

crazy price

Why are we going to kick start this separate business venture with a planned cost almost certainly greater than and a feature set almost certainly less than the first party solution that is in the works? As much as I think Unity could do better, the reality is that these guys don’t have the low level access they need to do this as well as Unity can officially, and will almost certainly lag behind permanently at a higher price point.

Take a peek at the videos, it’s mainly for 2D games.
if you need conversion html5 urgently, probably this is the only one round the corner…

$2,301 pledged of $50,000 goal
with only 6 days to go?

I don’t think so.

$50,000 is a pretty ridiculous amount to ask for and the pricing of the asset itself ($2499 - more expensive than Unity? What?) is ridiculous.

Coupled with op’s not-so-well-crafted original post this almost smells like a scam to me.

I rather get WebGL than this.

WebGL is officially supported, but HTML5 plugin isn’t and it’s by small developers with EXPENSIVE price.:face_with_spiral_eyes:

The caps in the title were not necessary.

Maybe they have been working on it for ages and got a nasty surprise when unity announced the webgl export.

i think that not, i see all videos of this and really are some few code lines that not make very much, with this very poor material try recolect $50.000 looks as a scam, and this words in the website are not much serious: “We’d love to hear from you, you attractive person you!”

update: “Funding Canceled Funding for this project was canceled by the project creator about 19 hours ago.”

The most ridiculous part of all of this is the fact that the pro license for this costs $1000 more than Unity Pro license. I think they are thinking that with this plugin you would be able to export to Android/iOS through HTML5 without the need for iOS/Android pro plugins so that could be how they tried to justify it?

Either way, still seems like a scam.

Update from Kickstarter page:

Seems like they indeed were caught by surprise by the Unity WebGL announcement… Doesn’t looks like scam to me.

I think they were legit. Obviously unfortunate for them but TBH the Unity one is bound to be far better.
