Unity wants to open project forcefully

I am using Unity 3.5 in Windows 7 normally because I have active licences. Today I downloaded Unity 4 to explore some of the amazing features (like Mechanim, or DirectX11, etc).

But when I try to open Unity 4 then it wants to open and upgrade my other project (one I am working with 3.5).

Do you know how can I open Unity 4 using the new project popup window?

Hold down the Alt key when clicking the Unity icon to start the program, that way Unity will give you the dialog to chose your project first.

Be nice if this was a Preferences option.

Were you being sarcastic? Because it is. Just check “Always Show Project Wizard”.
