Unity Web player crashing, need help!

Hello all, im having serious trouble with the unity web player plugin. Any game i try to play with unity will just crash. The logs say they get an access violation error, wich doesn’t help me much to know. I will attach logs for mechwarrior tactics as an example and a screenshot of the error displayed. Refreshing the screen just reloads the same thing and changes nothing.

Steps i tried to resolve this.

*Use different browsers

I tried Firefox, Chrome, Internet explorer, Waterfox and Opera. Same result on them all. I normally use Firefox.

*Uninstall and do a new install

Done it several times to no help

*Do a clean install by uninstalling, removing all registery files related to unity, clear cache, history. And reboot before installing webplayer from the site

Done but doesn’t help, same issue

*Are all Firewalls and antivirus programs shut off?

Yes i shut them off completely. I also shut off UAC and fiddled a bit with DEP but not sure if the DEP was shut off properly.

So anyone able to help? im on the verge of giving up.

sry, i dont have any solution, just saying you are not alone…

At the moment, firefox is only browser i can use. …actually i might have something you can try, not really sure, but i have a hunch this have something to do with 32 / 64 bit …so check out your browser and unityplayer are same. Not tried yet… because firefox is still working

Not sure if it’s a good thing or bad thing but atleast we are in the same boat together then, unfortunatly unless i missunderstood the things i read firefox is a 32 bit browser. And the unity player as far as i can tell does run on 32 bit. Waterfox is 64 bit browsing and i tried that one with no difference as well.

So I been down the same line of thinking you are, but it seems to be a dead end. Even if it was 64 bit and the player was 32 there is no problem because 64 bit browser can run 32 according to things i read. Thank you for the reply anyhow. Going to try updating my video drivers again. Not looking forward to the graphic issues nvidia drivers will cause my card : /

“Edit”

Well that did nothing.
