Unity won't work on my computer

I downloaded unity onto my computer, when i click for it to open to says “Unity Editor Stopped Working” and it does not give me an option to do anything but close it.

I have tried re downloading it multiple times and it still does not open.

I have Windows 8 64x laptop, i7, 8 gigs of ram, Intel 4000 integrated graphics card. Everything is updated completely to my knowledge.

Id Appreciate any assistance with this

My guess is there could these possible reasons of getting this error:

  • Unity release is 32 bit but it should be 64 as your OS is 64 bit.
  • Permission issue, run unity with administrator privileges.
  • Goto Run-> Type service.msc and restart any service related to unity then run unity again.
