Sorry if this has been asked before (i have tried looking through Unity3 support threads).
Like the subject line reads, I have having problems with Visual Studio popping up warning and errors with code. The code is compiling fine with Unity 3 Beta 3, but the errors do tend to cloud development.
Cannot Resolve Method 'StartCoroutine(System.Collections.IEnumerator)' Candidates are UnityEngine.Coroutine StartCoroutine(string)(in class MonoBehaviour)... etc etc
I am getting these on some Vector3 also I think and float (with different warnings/errors).
Is this an issue with the projects that are created when you Sync MonoDevelop Project in U3? Is there anything i can simply change within VS in the References etc?
I haven’t tried using MonoDevelop as I like using ReSharper within VS.
sound like your class has using UnityEngine and further “using xxx” in where the xxx also contains coroutine.
ensure to never have using UnityEngine and using System present as those two will very likely clash
you can still use classes from the not used namespace by explicitely naming the class, for example System.Object instead of Object etc
Thanks mate for replying but i don’t think so. I am having a few issues with different datatypes. I have tried deleting the entire project and re-generating it with ‘Sync ModoDevelop Project’ just incase i had a dodge reference somewhere. Here is a simple script showing a type of error i’m getting…
never seen such an error and it also makes no sense unless you have somewhere a script called float or some assemblies in the references that should not be there
Hmmm, this is indeed annoying… although, like I said, the scripts are compiling and working fine within Unity3.0… it’s just these VS error/warnings are making me check and double check things.
BTW… nothing in the references that wasn’t placed there by Unity3.0
Maybe some other VS user is getting this (fingers crossing) or could try their project in VS2008 to see if scripts are flagging like this.
