they look cool!
But how do i change the folder icon?

The icon set is very cool!

Can’t wait for more

check this:

that helped

Or you might just as well use img2icns

Just Drag&Drop. You can even use images instead of icns files.

i could never understand why people would pay money for an icon creator…
Any image that you can get into memory in any way/shape/method/form can be used as an icon simply by using the GetInfo-ClickOnIcon-Paste method.

So whenever I am busy in Photoshop and do a copy operation, I am ready to use the info as an icon… But usually, when the need arises for an icon change I just open an image using Preview, copy the image and voila… I am ready to go. Getting an image that is worth while is the hard part. Using it as an icon is the easy part. Paying for software that replaces a copy-paste operation with a graphical multi-step system just seems dumb. img2icnsapp allows you to convert from icon to image but if you already HAVE the image to begin with then what’s the point…? Maybe I am missing something here, but I honestly can’t see the point in buying software just to do a simple copy-paste operation…

That’s just me…

p.s. so I don’t sound like a negative person here, the message I hope people take away from this post of mine is this:
Any image can be used as an icon simply by:

  • copying the image into memory (i.e., open it in Preview, press Apple+C)
  • Selecting the file or folder you want to change the icon of
  • Hitting Apple+I
  • Clicking one on the Icon on the window that pops up
  • Hitting Apple+V

Done.

I qickly made this folder icon and I thought I might just as well share it with the community before I delete it:

I wanted to have the original shape of a folder icon, but with a colourful logo.

Usually i would agree, except that Img2icns is FREE  Sure, there is a Pro version, but I’m perfectly comfortable with the free version, which is faster and simpler than your method.
