Unity3D Mesh Cutting

Hey folks,

I was inspired by this thread regarding mesh cutting in Unity3D:

http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/75949-Mesh-Real-Cutting

I am planning to make a Ninja game, and I’m running some technical tests now, to see what I can do. So far, I only have a fully animated female Ninja character, a small Dojo and an enemy.

(character not created by me - can be purchased at http://www.dexsoft-games.com/)

Here’s the old video with the first tests:

The mesh cutting is scripted by now, not calculated in realtime.

UPDATE:

Here is a link to the web player demo:

this is really cool. any chance i can have the scripts?

Yes you can. I’m still working on this, and the video shows the first test. I will probably release a package when it’s done

Sweet!

*Bump

I have made a very simple Dojo for the Ninja and an Enemy (I’m not the best artists btw…).

I updated the first post with a link to a webplayer for a small demo.

Comments and criticism are welcome

very fun, best regards.
would more fun if animation transition will be smooth.

Same.

Thanks for the comment. What transitions do you mean? Animations should be blended…

no, they aren’t blended

Yes, you’re right. Between moving and attacking there is a lack of animation blending, because that’s 2 different scripts dealing with that. I will look into it

Great work!

you are still working on? (the last message is an older one…)
just asking because of an project-to-teach-myself

Very well done! I am very impressed! I thought this wasn’t even possible without replacing the models. Looking forward to the release. Or is it already out?
