[If searching for it, best title to search is, Unity3d FPS Eclipse Of War.

Another MMO, I would advise you to stick with a single player of smaller scale(6v6) game. MMO’s are far too ambitious.

I agree with KheltonHeadley. If you really intend to make the game multiplayer/mmo, try to implement the multiplayer layer from the earliest moment possible.

I’ve choosen to set hold on one of my projects and started another (of much smaller scale) to also learn about multiplayer game creating. There are many factors you have to look at.

Do you intend to use your own implementation of a multiplayer layer or an existing one?

However, don’t let it keep you down from making to game, just prepare yourself as much as possible.

Little bit too high exceptations for the game you have: “I want this game to be like real life”. Its not that easy… You’ll see

I agree with everyone else here…

Halo, Gears of War, Assassin’s Creed, Starcraft, Warcraft, Mech Warrior and many many others made millions of dollars with just having 16 players. Some just 8.

Many of these games don’t persist either. MMOs do. For instance… for your MMO, you’ll need to make a login/password, let players store characters, have a skill tree, and all the other things that an MMO means. For games like HALO… you can just hop in and hop out. Every new game, everyone starts in the same place, there are no levels, etc.

You could make some great money and have good fun making a 5 vs 5 game.

Absolutely keep working on your game, and absolutely keep posting updates! … but start smaller. Think of what you could COMPLETE in 6 months or less.

It looks interesting, but you should provide a little more about the game. Also, I would recommend buying the Ultimate FPS Camera from the asset store. It has a lot of basic FPS stuff you will need.

Im doing everything myself, and Im adding multiplayer in a month. :] I already know how.

I am expert programmer, so will make my own.

There is so much to do in this game, it would tire me typing it, so just check in for updates per week. :]

I’ll take your word for it, many people make MMO’s, or plan them and only 1% actually make it into the market. Most don’t even turn out successful, I’d honestly reconsider if I were you because MMO’s are dime a dozen, especially here on the forums. It’s nothing new, nothing interesting. Try something that has not been done. Not another Day-z/Bore-z type game. Try something unique and cool.

Best of Luck
Cheers
Khelton

My game will be very unique gameplay, including hand to hand fighting, countering, and gun stealing. Alot more than this but you get the idea. Real life strategy, and you will unlock perks/skills that allow you to do new moves, in fighting/countering and climbing/all sorts of stuff. :]

All I can say is… good luck.

Thanks! :] It should be ready for alpha towards end of summer, then beta .

Sneak peak at update #2 gun now here. :] Enjoy! Update #2 coming soon. Will keep posting updates to this 1 thread to avoid multiple threads. Also my current splash screen is up, will be updating in future. :]

At top!

Let me know what you think of sneak peak gun, will have 3 textures. A grey/silver, grey/gold, and my special alpha version, when alpha comes this gun will be given to all alpha testers, with a special Eclipse of War texture. :]

gun at top!

That logo looks an awful lot like PS2’s…

Good progress on that video so far, though.

I agree it is very bad, because I made in in 1 minute, just to test splashscreen script. :] will redo alot as I go.

and thanks! :] Hope you enjoy, I finished texture for my sneak peak gun. :] (AA-12)

Never seen a MMOFPS, seems like a great idea! Hopefully everything goes fine.

Thanks there are alot of them out there like call of duty, but I am going for a special unique real life gameplay. :] I probably cant get same graphics as MW3 but I can get better gameplay.

Are you really that good at programming?

if you’r planning on making an mmofps i should focus on the network side of your game first rather then gameplay if i were you.
