Unity3d no longer loads / opens after windows update.

I think a bunch of updates have broken my Unity. After some updates Unity would freeze after it finished loading any project. I tried reinstalling unity, that did not work, I tried a later version that did not work either.
I’m on 5.5.03f now. The application, after selecting a project on the project selection screen, freezes and does not load up the editor.

Anyone had similar issues or know what would fix this?

yes me, have installed fall creator, and re installed unity, all fail… WTF
