Once when surfing the internet I have stumbled upon unity3d official site or blog.
It started like this “Textures for special effect are quite expensive to make because the software is expensive so we here provide some pregenerated ones”.
I thought I will be able to find this entry later but I could not.
Also if you know of any database with free for commercial use sprite sheets for vfx please share the link.

Thanks for your effort but I’m not talking about sprites for 2d games. But sprite sheets for effects.
I have no idea what text or article you’re looking at or what it’s referring to, but there’s this:
Lot’s of particle effects that include whatever sprite sheets these effects require.
Unfortunately it is not this it was not asset store, also there were only textures not full effects.
No one can really help you find something you vaguely remember seeing on the internet once. Use the search feature for this this… use google, use the search in the asset store. If those don’t give you results, or if it is something Unity has removed, you are out of luck. Closed.
