UnityException: Texture 'New Cubemap' is not readable

Hello,

I created a cubemap with this Unity Pro Script:

class RenderCubemapWizard extends ScriptableWizard {
        var cubeCam : Camera;
        var cubemap : Cubemap;

        function OnWizardUpdate () {
            helpString = "Select transform to render from and cubemap to render into";
            isValid = (cubeCam != null)  (cubemap != null);
        }

        function OnWizardCreate () {

            cubeCam.RenderToCubemap( cubemap );
        }

        @MenuItem("GameObject/Render into Cubemap")
        static function RenderCubemap () {
            ScriptableWizard.DisplayWizard.<RenderCubemapWizard>(
                "Render cubemap", "Render!");
        }
    }

After that I tried to extract the textures with the script from this link: http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/9189/how-can-i-extract-the-individual-faces-from-a-gene.html

Unity throws an error that the texture memory is not readable: UnityException: Texture ‘New Cubemap’ is not readable, the texture memory can not be accessed from scripts. You can make the texture readable in the Texture Import Settings.

Readable is check on the cubemap. How can I extract the textures from it?

I’m actually trying to do the same thing and ran into the same problem. I think the problem is the cubemap is readable, but the textures selected in the cubemap are not. I don’t see any way of changing this though…

My current workaround is this script: http://wiki.unity3d.com/index.php?title=Skybox_Generator. The texture resolution can be changed inside the scripting. I will report a bug for the Unity Pro Cube Map Feature Creation Behavior.
