Hi,
I have not used Unity before and am working as a web developer on a project which aims to use Unity in an online environment.
I have been looking at implementing unity in a browser and when it comes to a situation where the unity player/plug-in is not installed on the client there are two situations:
-
The user is given a link to the download page on the unity site.
-
The player/plugin automatically runs/installs.
I am looking to achieve the latter. After extensive testing it appears to me that the key difference in achieving the two is the extension of the unity file and that .unityweb would achieve what I am looking for. However the version of Unity being used by our team (2.6) only builds to the ‘.unity3d’ extension and from what I gather ‘.unityweb’ is outdated.
Is this correct?
Can we still export to .unityweb in some way?
