"Unloading the first loaded scene '...', is currently not supported"

I’m trying to use to load and unload between 2 scenes. I’m using Application.UnloadLevel then a call to Resources.UnloadUnusedAssets() to free up memory. My example scene works for awhile then everytime I try and run the app again I get “Unloading the first loaded scene ‘…’, is currently not supported” error message.

Can anyone explain what this error message means?

Is this answer useful? Correct use of Application.UnloadLevel ? - Questions & Answers - Unity Discussions

Hi Jordi - I’d seen that and it doesn’t help.

I’m working on a test project that shows the problem. I wrote something that uses invoke repeating to load and unload 2 levels. The odd thing is that it works for awhile and then for no reason it starts throwing that error. I initially thought the error message meant unloading the first scene is currently not supported, as in Unity 5 doesn’t allow that because the feature is there. After thinking about it some more, I think the message means, “Hey, I can’t unload that level right now because I’m in some state that doesn’t allow that”.

Ok @kenlem , could you create a bug report and share the bug number?
