Update about the future of the Unity Forums and Unity Discussions

The UI is terrible. Unity Answers was so simple, just search and we got answers. Home Page was simply the latest posted questions with Categories. For this Unity Discussions we need a separate 100 posts discussion which explains which option is where and how it works.

Aye. This one is happily arguing black is white and despite proof of something working. Im apparently a liar.

As you say. Time to walk away. I just dont appreciate being called a liar. Having been myself previously reported for answering with something along the lines “as per my response on your stackoverflow post heres a shortened version of the answer”… and being told i was being unfair on the person of the day…

Tell 'em you said what needed to be said, and you’re done wasting your time on their inane BS. That simple. They may kick and scream after that trying to get you to engage, but if you can just end it on a high note and walk away you win. Don’t let them pull you back in. It’ll drive them crazy.

Indeed. At the same time. The report function should work. Even if it is arguably not the time to use it.

just confirming google seo being broken

The second option you click where it says click here, in the blue text. it’s to comply with DSA rules we have to track and gather more details for that act.

The first option is a /page url issue which I did say was one of the scenarios we are aware of. However the second option on that page works.

This thread was not migrated, because it had no replies or likes, and was created on August 13, 2023. The thread didn’t qualify for the requirements of migration.

oh yes you are, I’ve already posted a lengthy proof about your trolling behavior on the thread in question

in short you are keep insisting that something works and you know how to fix it but you don’t post the solution for other to see.

this for me is the quintessential trolling behavior and acting like a victim just top this out on. and bro yes this is my opinion and not some wide side forum rule that is backed by unity or something . have no idea why you want to leave the forum just because some user you were trolling with answered back

the thread in question with the solution posted by me at the end that he should have been posted himself, instead of keep insisting that I’m stupid if I didn’t knew about it in the first place

We have put fix in pace that will not take you to the exact spot but will take you to the thread. It’s not perfect but at the moment it’s our best solution, let me know if you have more issues

All those should work now ( /page ones return to the thread body)

I’m not sure but this may be the hidden the cost of no more dubai girls

That is great, i think this is more than enough, the big issue was users searching for the assets and move to a not working page, which is resolved

Thanks a lot for the fix

I’m still a little confused about this “like” migration rule. There are some infos that were deleted, examples I found:
https://forum.unity.com/threads/main-optimization-cycle-in-unity.1467425/ (no likes but a tutorial)
https://forum.unity.com/threads/tutorial-strange-attractors-vfx-graph-cool-effects.1518109/ (this even has at least 1 like)
https://forum.unity.com/threads/google-play-indie-games-contest-in-europe-2017-enter-now.502686/ (announcement, but not migrated)

I’m not saying those are critical infos for me, but they can be discovered through google and viewed in archive.org - they seem to be topics that garnered lots of views. Also I feel like locked topics did not allow to be liked, thus some of them also got lost

I think when you do any of these migrations there is a opportunity to "trim the fat’ so to speak. the migration criteria was published and indeed ,modified from community feedback. we have all the information still and if a post is deemed essential we can restore it but at the moment the migration criteria is the information cut off so to speak

Hi,

I’m not sure about that:

It’s a useful feature indeed but my mail box is crowded enough as it is.

Would it be possible to select what assets we want to receive these notifications about?

Thanks! :slightly_smiling_face:

To be honest, I don’t think anyone is going to be making reports considering how laborious the process is now.
