Update text field realtime

I just begun working with the UI system and have got some problem with the Text field. It only updates when the scene reloads. Is there any way around this?

	public Text pointsLabel;
	
	// Use this for initialization
	void Start () {
		var VectorTemp = Camera.main.ViewportToWorldPoint (new Vector3 (0, 0, 10));
		bounds.x = VectorTemp.x + 0.15f;
		bounds.y = VectorTemp.y + 0.3f;
		bounds.z = -bounds.x;
		bounds.w = -bounds.y;

		points = 0;
	}

	void Update () {
		pointsLabel.text = "Points: " + points;
	}

I found what the problem was. You must have Text as child to canvas and not as part of it.

  • As child it update in real-time
  • As part of canvas it updates on reload
