No, you have to download updates.

ehm… U3 has an update function and it auto checks at start, when an update is available it will show a notification for you to download the update.
Indeed that’s true; I’m still used to the pre-3.0 system…

Nothing has changed with the new system. difference is just that the editor tells it not the board or a mail.
But you still download it and still install it as before. It just happens faster than previously
all clear… thanks…
Are there any ways to know if an update has been released without going trough the “check for updates” button in Unity?
I’m working offline so I cannot do the verification. I do have access to internet on another computer (that cannot install Unity), so is there a link that announces updates?
you can look at the newsletter and board.
new releases are mentioned that way as well, newsletter normally with 1-4 days latency due to the time the system needs to go through all.
there wasn’t one since 3.0 so you have not missed anything.
Next one will be 3.1 likely on the start day of Unite (according what they mentioned and also was like this the past years) given the build is solid till then
