with an approximated queue time of 30 business days (according to the official article) I would like to how it is being handled if I want to push an update for the asset while in the queue or after already being cleared for release. Say I found a bug or something similar during those 6 weeks of queue time and I want that fix to be available right from release. Would that put me back into the 6 week queue or would that put me in the update queue (~1-3 business days) without having actually published the asset yet.
You can make any updates during these 6 weeks and the review time will not start over. I recently did this with my package and it happened exactly like this - the overall wait time did not change.
I’ve also done this a few times. It does change the package to some sort of “pending” state without a queue number, and this may take a few hours or even 3 days but it should come back about the right location in the queue.
One time I noticed the queue went up by a little (maybe +100) but this isn’t concerning, since the queue numbers frequently fluctuate somewhat anyway so it’s more likely to do with how the queue gets processed than making an in-queue update.
Also: you can submit an empty package, spend about six weeks developing it, and when the queue falls below maybe 300 you know you should submit your initial package at this point. Just don’t make the mistake of finishing the package, and then submitting it, and then having to wait 2 months to earn money, and another month or so until it lands in your pockets.
