Updating Prefabs within other Prefabs (Nested)

I’m trying to set up menus using prefabs.
I have prefabs for generic menu elements: butons, sliders, labels etc.
Then I have prefabs that compose those elements into menus.

If I update the button prefab, I’d like the change to propagate to everywhere I’ve used the prefab.
When I update prefabs that are attached to regular GameObjects, it seems the changes propagate.
However when the prefab is attached to another prefab, the changes don’t seem to propagate.

Am I missing a button or way of doing this?

Currently, Unity does not support nested prefab, but according to this, this features is planned and started since last year.

If you do need one right now, here’s a item from Asset store that will allow you to make nested prefabs.
