Upgrade to 2x licencing question.

Upgrading to indie 2 from indie 1 means 1.6 no longer has a licence key, but are the 1.6 projects going to run in 2?

Anyone tried Leopard yet?

Cheers!

M

OK, got the Leopard bit.

I think I am the only legally blind Unity user? Anyone else out there not prepared to let %8 field of vision stop them??!!

M

Yes, they should. When you first open your 1.6 project folder with 2.0 Unity will “convert” the assets. You may see a number of messages in the console, but otherwise it should load OK.

Keep in mind, 2.0 projects are -not- backwards compatible. I would make a copy of your 1.6 project and open the copy just in case something should go wrong. Also AFAIK, you should be able to keep your copy of the Unity 1.6 application on your hard drive as well as 2.0. Before you install 2.0, be sure to rename your /Unity application folder to something else (like /Unity_1.62) so it won’t install over the older version.

Hope this helps…

Yes, thanks. Will get onto it right away!
