Upload file size limits?

Hi,

I tried to post something one the forum here with an attachment (.unitypackage) of 7.8MB but when the upload reaches 100% it comes up with a general error saying something like “Can’t upload empty file”. I have tested the file I want to upload and there is nothing wrong with the file itself. Is it because I am trying to upload a too large file or what is the problem?

Thanks,
Martin

This is the error message i get:

yes its too large
the board is not meant to become your file hoster, I think the max is 4mb

if you want to upload your content for whatever reason I would recommend that you use your hoster as anybody else

Ok thanks no problem.

Maybe the error message should say that the file is too big in that case to make more sense to the user.

I was wrong its no size thing.
you aren’t allowed to hook in asset bundles at all.

makes also no sense to hook them in as they are of no use to anyone but you commonly

Sorry I don’t totally understand you. I am trying to attach a .unitypackage, am I not allowed to attach a .unitypackage file? I have seen other people do it or what am I missing?

packages should work and are fine
No idea how I cam to the conclusion of asset bundle

Not enough coffee.

Hehe

So there is still no explanation why I can attach my file?

nope

btw: you can click the “Allowed extensions and sizes” link right above the attachement choose file button to see the theoretically allowed file types and sizes

Yeah I did, which is why I find it weird I can’t upload the file.

This is an ever so ancient bug in the web forums software, if I bothered, I could find posts about this problem from probably back 2 years ago or so, I ran into it many times. Not sure why it starts, not sure how it gets fixed, but eventually it works again.
