Urgent Help Needed...

Hi Everyone… It seems that after my Sector3 Web Servers was moved to a new data centre some people globally cannot get to my site… example is my Circuit Defenders web link.

Request:-

If you are NOT able to get to this page and get a time out, can you do a traceroute for me and send me (PM or email (seon@sector3.com.au) the trace so my data centre techs can sort this issue out.

If you are able to get to it, then dont worry… enjoy playing it

not coming up here (New Hampshire, USA). sorry just about to eat dinner but i’ll be back in a little while - in the meantime could you explain what a traceroute is and how to do it?

Hi DrJones…

Open up a terminal window, and type in…

traceroute games.sector3.com.au

and it will list the whole path going from your machine to my server… every server and router is has to take. This list should show my data center where it is being stopped.

Just screen grab or copy&paste it for me.

It appears to be loading here, though Im on dialup and arent going to wait for the whole thing to load. Im getting a moving progress bar and unity logo. might be a kink in the cord somewhere

How long has the problem been happening? If you’ve moved datacenters it can take 24-48 hours for the global DNS servers to update with the new routing table information.

The move was last Friday night US time. It should have been ok by now.

Has anyone has success getting to the game now hat didnt yesterday?

At least my data centre have admitted they have an issue since the move and are not pointing at something at my end… thats a start.

Now I just need them to track it down and get it fixed.
