URP Build Issue: UniversalRenderPipelineGlobalSettings asset gets modified every build

Since upgrading to Unity 6 (URP 17.0.3), it appears that every time we make new game builds, our UniversalRenderPipelineGlobalSettings asset gets modified.



This causes issues with version control where users sometime commit accidental changes and face conflicts. Is this a bug? Or an intended behavior we should work around? Anybody else encountering this?

Are you modifying global settings at runtime?

I’m facing the same issue. It’s very annoying to have this happening.

In my scenario I’m not changing any of the settings. It seems to happen after every build.

This is apparently a known bug. It’s very annoying for teams using version control. Please vote for it!

Of course it is. The issue I linked to still has a status of “under consideration”, not “fixed”. Did you even look at the link?

If its important to you then vote on the issue at that same link.
