URP directional lights in 2021.3 and 2022.1 vs 2022.2

Hi,

I’m using two directional lights in my project and it seems in 2022.2 it no longer works. Anyone know if this is an intentional change, a “feature” I don’t know about or a bug (I filed the bug report too, IN-26708). Just wondering if anyone has encountered this, since getting anything back from the actual bug reports seem to take months these days.

Screenshots from 2021.3.16 vs project upgraded to 2022.2.1 (only one of the lights is used anymore). Still works in the last 2022.1 too.

(What I’m doing in my actual project is using one directional light for shadows and one for lighting as I need shadows to come from a different direction than the light for “reasons”, but that’s broken too now because of this and I seem to now be stuck with the last 2022.1 version.)

The feature comparison states that multiple directional lights are supported on URP for 2022.2, so perhaps its a bug rather than a feature.

That’s a good find, thanks! Seems like it’s too early to jump on 2022.2 then.

Many issues with 2022.2 currently, you might want to report this as a bug in case it’s not known yet.

FWIW, there’s now a bug open for this. Unity Issue Tracker - Only one Light is casted when two Directional Lights are active

Having same issue - have upvoted the bug report.
