URP: post processing not shown in browsers?

  • Untiy 2019.3.0f6,
  • unmodified URP template
  • unmodified sample scene
  • WebGL2.0
  • Linear color space

in the editor, the standard URP sample scene looks like this. Notice the glow on the wood:


In Chrome and Firefox however, it looks like this. No Glow. Does postprocessing not work in WebGL? The Colors also look a bit faded.

Here’s a more clear comparison. What is the reason for the darker colors and the lack of post processing effects?
I really want to use WebGL for a kind of hi-end graphics application…

Using Gamma instead of Linear color space seem to fix the problems. However, I would prefer to use Linear space.
Strangely, linear color space was supposed to bring post processing effects to WebGL, but in my experience it is the opposite!
