URP running on the Oculus quest. Scene is much brighter than in editor.

I’m using URP 7.15 and Unity 2019.3.0b10. No matter what I do when the scene build to the Quest it apears brighter. Using the new Oculus Link that streams from the editor the scene looks nearly identical so it’s not from the displays themselves. I have tried numerous settings, with lights and without, changing the format of the lightmaps, with post fx and without. No matter what I do the effect is still the same. Has anyone had this problem before?

Edit: Hold on it might actually be the post process

Edit 2 : Yes when the Post Processing on the camera is ticked off the scene is no longer brighter. Any ideas on how to fix this ?

Same issue for me!!!

I’m still looking for a workaround. Have you made any progress ?

Hi!
Can you please report a bug?
Thanks!

I did. Case number : 1201377.
I can pm you the fogbugz link too.

Great, thanks!
No need, the bug ID is enough

Keep me posted or if you need more info. This bug getting fixed or a workaround is very important to me.

Changing the HDR mode to FP16 in Tier settings fixed this for me.

Would like to add that I too experience this issue. Shown Here

An update: I built for my android phone (pixel 2), and it displayed the correct lighting. So its something with the quest and/or unity. The tip from Yuri about changing HDR mode made no difference for me.

Have anyone found a solution for this?

Same issue!

Edit: Updating URP to 7.2.1 fixed it, all good!

Hi!
We had a fix for an issue that might be related to this:

The fix landed in master and will be part of the next URP release(7.3.0)
Thanks!

I still have this exact issue, using URP 8.2.0, what fixes it is changing the Anti-aliasing setting from fxaa to smaa in the main camera.

I’m still seeing this issue using Unity 2020.1 and URP 8.2. The work around that kfireven suggested works for now but is there a proper fix incoming. This is on a Windows build for Oculus.

Hi Robert and kfireven,

The fix should be available in URP 7.3, URP 8.3 and URP10.x. URP 8.3 will be promoted soon so please update to that version when it is available

Thanks!
Thomas

I’m experiencing this issue with Unity 2019.4.4f1 and URP 7.3.1. From what I understand this shouldn’t be happening right?

Hey @adrian-taylor09

Yes, this is supposed to be fixed(issue tracker link).
If you were still experiencing the issue please submit a bug and we will take a look!

Thanks!
Thomas

I’m experiencing the same issue with 2022.1.15f1 and URP 13.1.8. Any ideas?

Hi Carlosm,
The original bug is already fixed and closed. If you still see the issue please submit a new bug with the repro project. We will investigate once it is verified. Thanks!
