uScript Is Now Available For Purchase!

It’s official-- the uScript Visual Scripting Tool is finally available for purchase on the Unity Asset Store! We are currently offering uScript as a Retail Beta for 50% off the full retail value for early adopters as we finalize development of version 1.0. If you think you will be purchasing uScript, now is the perfect time to do so!

uScript is a powerful visual scripting tool for Unity developed by a group of video game development veterans-- to learn more about uScript, please check out the following links:

Excellent, purchasing now!

Thank you larvantholos!

If we purchase the beta do we get upgraded to the retail version when it comes out? Or is it another separate purchase?

Can i use uScript for GUI as well ? For example creating GUI button and using uScript to code it in different way ? Like when click load level , when click change GUI to this GUI when click close GUI open another GUI and so on and so on  ?

Picked this up. uScript has been on my radar for a while now, and I’m excited to see it nearing release.

You get the retail version as well.

uScript support’s Unity’s GUI system. If you wish, you can try uScript for free right now-- just register on the uScript Community Forum and use the beta download link on the forum!

Great to hear, thanks Thinksquirrel!

I am just curious, what’s the full retail price of uScript?

Well its %50 percent off now which is $95, so full retail will be $190.

wow thats a lot of money .

I’ll be buying it Friday if its still at this price. Will test it out and report back at the ease of use.

Looking at maybe buying it once I’ve finished my current project. I’d like to ask those who have used the beta or have bought it just how they’ve found it in regards to fitting into their workflow. Are there any limitations in its use, say for certain game styles ?

Could any game that a coder has planned be coded in uScript ? The only style of game that I have zero interest in is the first person shooter, but by and large these are heavily used in demos and tutorials of such products as uScript. Indeed the security door alarm video tut is such a tutorial. So…
Are any game genres unsuitable? Any that are better suited? And, basically, could uScript be used almost exclusively over (old fashioned!) scripting in Unity ?

Hello SpaceCadet!

You can make any kind of game you want with uScript. uScript is just a tool to visualize programming logic to allow for non-programmers to directly create actions and events for their games. As always, it is up to the creator to use such tools to make great games. uScript is also completely exstensible, so it can be augmented in any way needed for a specific product’s goals.

If you want to get feedback from users, visit the uScript Community Forum. We have over 800 registered beta users you can ask!

Hi,

I would really like to purchase and use this in my projects. However, I am a little confused as to how to use this. Where should I draw the line between C# scripts and uScript? To clarify this question, would all movement code by done via C#, via uScript, or created in C# then invoked in uScript. I’ve been reading some tutorials on Kismet actions, and it seems as if Kismet is used only for level code, so all shooting and movement code for games such as Unreal Tournament 3 would be done via C++ (i.e. C# in Unity). Also, I am primarily a programmer, so have the skills to create custom actions/events and whatnot.

I hope you can answer these questions for me!

Thanks,
Richard

I am curious as well, does uScript generate C# code for you to edit and debug?

EDIT: Nevermind, looks like it does.

Thanks for the info you uScript guys. I’ll sign up to your forums for some more in depth questions. My final query is along the lines of the previous two posts. When a game is written using uScript, the final builds code is made up, either wholly or partly, of uScript generated C# scripts, yes ? And these can sit alongside JS and Boo scripts as normal ? And these created scripts are editable (as an option), if needed ?

Sorry if i’m asking obvious stuff, I’ve never used Kismet or similar and while the video tuts are great at explaining uScript actually in use, it all seems to go a bit ‘magik code’ after that and the final uScript production is a bit ambiguous.

I call bullfaeces!

1.) Why does it cost 190$? Even with the discount it’s too much for an experiment you threw up in 3 months :expressionless:
2.) What about performance?
3.) How is this easier then normal scripting? From my experience with UE3 it just leaves a mess and is starting to annoy you to heavens at around mid-range big project.
4.) How did you take care of this problem? Not at all I guess!?
5.) The videos are not very explanatory about what problems can this cause!
6.) Are you actually sure what you’re doing?
7.) And it stinks of marketing rubbish!

I’m sorry but this just stinks of something!

@Dany0
Just try the beta before you buy and do not tell that something stinks here !
For the most of us we are happy that is there to buy now and i would pay even more.
