using Unity as interactive interface for 360 image tours and 360 video?

hi.
i have heard buzz from half informed friends on the tech perphery who have tech friends…that Unity is a powerful way to enhance 360 experiences.
just wondering how true that is, and if anyone has any information about the possibilities of using Unity to create interactive games with 360 imagery and 360 video.
i know the new 2017 release is supposed to have some 360 video editing and interaction features.
but i was wondering just how far those features extend, and if they can be applied to 360 imagery and 360 tours as well?
any info would be appreciated.
i want to get beyond the real estate paradigm and explore the potential 360 has to offer.
i think Unity is the perfect vehicle to begin that exploration.

thanks,

randy

Of course. I recommend you start with the sample 360 video project here: https://oc.unity3d.com/index.php/s/kceb0rAE9fDcdqE

thanks @tanshimi

that is what i was looking for.
a startng point.
hopefully it will have attendant leads and info to using static 360 imagery as well.
