Hello ! im a programmer in a small TI company, im willing to offer the idea of using unity to develop some apps that can be useful in the real life, i mean in the “domotic” way, by now we just make apps for android/ios in unity…

can you use unity to interact with some kind of servo-motors? led-light bulbs? is there any sdk to do that? so you can make a nice app to control a window, a door, even a light intensity/color in a room? what do you think?

Unity is not built for robotics, but you could use it with a bit of tweaking.

Unity would probably fit better as part of the solution. Use traditional control methods such as a PLC to control the robotics, and use Unity as your front end for its visual display characteristics.

> I’ve been working on a boxing robot for about 4 years now. This is a full sized robot that a person physically fights. You stand in front of it with boxing gloves and it tries to punch you in the face. Originally we set about building it using ROS...

You make Unity “talk” with the outside world in exactly the same way that you’d make any other C# program talk with the outside world. There’s no magic to it.
