UV Mapping Problems

Hey,

I was using Unity with Windows XP and didn´t had any problems importing models from Max, however after I installed Windows Vista Unity is not recognizing UV Maps anymore… I even tried with a single cube and still is not recognizing…

Any ideas???

No one??? Does anyone had this kind of problem either??? Is it a Vista x Unity problem ???

Hum, thats rather odd. Which format are you using to export from max, also which version of max are you using?

I’m using windows 7 and I’ve had no problems with Unity or Max.

If you’re using FBX for instance, have you tried updating to the latest version of the exporter/importer?

What happens if you try to import the file back into max?

Make sure you have the latest FBX plugin for the modeling software you are using. We had all sorts of problems with UV’s getting skewed in older versions of the FBX plugin with 3DS MAX. The default one that installs with MAX 2009 for example is out of date and causes these issues. Check here for the latest plugins for MAX/Maya.

Well I´m using max 2009 64bit and downloaded the new fbx plugin (2010 for Max 2009 64bit).
if I import back to max from the genarated FBX I have the same problem… loose all textures. So here is probably the problem… :frowning:
I will uninstall max, and install it again and se if it solves the issue!!!
Thank you all !!!

OT, regarding your Avatar - KILL IT KILL IT WITH FIRE!

Well, it was a problem with FBX plugin… I had to format the machine, install all programs again and it worked fine.

However I´m still having some problems with Unity… I´ve made a test with a scene, I´d rendered to texture and it´s all right im Max, as you can see in image 1, but when I import as FBX in Unity some of the objects have it applied correctly and some just appear in black, even if I create a new material and apply again :frowning: (image 2)
Any ideas on how to solve it ???
