Do NOT do that! Nothing needs admin privileges, and doing so enables further issues.
Uninstall the Hub and reinstall. Delete the cache and temp download locations.

I didnt try your fix because i just managed to instal it :
- by downloading it outside of the hub from the website
- then instaling it still outside of the hub
- locating it in the hub
