I use the prefab variants for my project - it worked perfect for a long time.
Not sure what happened now but each change I do to the original prefab (which I need to) it breaks the link and the variant prefab Icon is no longer a variant only a regular prefab icon.
If I revert the changes the prefab returns to be a variant.

Could you report it and we can take a look at it?
You just open the editor, go to Help->Report a bug…
