I’m working on adding in another mobile optimized vehicle to the asset store. This one is “based” on a Mustang GT500 and will be textured appropriately…without emblems, manufacturer logos, etc. It will have the classic racing stripes though It’s right at 1,002 polygons and will use a 512x512 customizable PSD.
I’m going to add it in along with the other mobile resolution vehicles I have up on the store currently. Check out what’s already available and you’ll get an idea for the end quality level.
I think you guys will get a kick out of this new scene. It’s an unfinished city level, it’s also a low poly city designed for iOS/Android. I thought I would put it to use here, but be careful not to drive off into the dark void.

I’ve got an exciting incentive for contributors! I have a group of assets for sale on the Unity asset store at full price. I’m offering your choice of any asset from the group, for the low contribution of $8. Normally these mobile optimized assets are $15.00. That’s a savings of nearly 50% off the original price!
However, it doesn’t look like all of your assets from your FatBOX site are uploaded to the Unity store. Also the character models are more valuable to me than the vehicles. Create more, not specifically zombies.
@ChadM - The great thing about the low poly zombie guy is the model is universal…the texture can be changed to just about anything and ya got a new character. I might do some texture variations, but I dunno if Unity would allow me to just upload those or not?
For example, here is the same model done as a tennis player.
Same incentive for contributors with this new character (420 polygon US Marine)! He’s so new, he’s not even live on the Asset Store yet! You can follow this link to see the listing of available assets:
Once you’ve contributed the $8.oo to Super Kart Racing, I’ll send your purchased asset directly to you.
Here is the link to the funding campaign (where you would put in the contribution):
Please make sure you plug in your email address at checkout. That’s where I will be sending your asset. Thank you again for all of your support.
I used these modular city pieces to put together the in progress environment seen in the demo for the cars for sale.
Now you can have the pieces to make that environment for free.
These are low poly modular street sections and buildings that can be used to populate your own city in Unity.
The video demonstrates how to use the pieces and contains the download link for the Unity project source. Enjoy!
I recommend including several textures, and posting that info to the asset store. I looked right past your asset, because i thought “great, another zombie”.
It’s in the standard format Unity uses…FBX. They are editable in a 3d package. I could easily shoot over an .OBJ once I’ve confirmed a purchase as well.
So for generalism, do you think the Zombie model is the best buy if I wish to make my own animations, create custom textures, but use the model as a base to grow off of?
Yes. He’s much more versatile than say the Marine guy. I moved edges and tweaked some things on the Marine guy to kind of make his pants and shirt look more military in style. The zombie model is more versatile, because some simple texture changes and he’s an entirely new character. Now the zombie model has zombie specific animations, so you would have to do your own. The Marine guy has pretty standard human being animations. It’s a balance I suppose. You could easily tweak the marine guy’s model a bit and do the same texture customization.
This is a free tileset of city streets and grass areas to help you lay down a foundation of city roads for any top-down or isometric style project. If you’re going to use this for mobile development make sure to atlas all of these 256x256 textures onto a couple of 512x512 textures or maybe a 1024x1024. NGUI, Sprite Manager 2, and several free sprite tools exist for the Unity engine that process texture atlases.
I would also suggest checking out the Modular City Kit video on my Youtube and grabbing the modular buildings. These modular buildings would work awesome placed on top of these tiles.
