Veins - Physics-based multiplayer action game

Hello there! We are a small indie team from Sweden currently working on our second title in Unity. It’s a physics based multiplayer game where you either help your friends refurbish a home or fight to the death. The twist is that you all are different human organs, starting with the main character the heart.

We are hoping on releasing a free demo in April (if Elden Ring isn’t to much fun) so if you are interested it would be very kind if you could wishlist it on Steam.

It is strange that we haven’t found this forum until now, seeing how we’ve developed for Unity for about 4-5 years now but better late than never I suppose.

Any feedback you have is very welcome and we will try to update here when we have fun news.

It was pretty hard to understand what was happening in the trailer, but it looks and sounds like the kind of couch-versus game that I like: Towerfall, Duck Game, etc. Plus, I dig the slap-stick “gore”. I’ll keep an eye on your updates here.

First of all thank you for the feedback! You are right about the trailer, we definitely need to find a way to really show of the gameplay in a better way in the future. If you like those kinds of games then this is right up your ally. Our main inspirations have been Stick Fight, Duck Game and Ultimate Chicken Horse just to name a few.

Overall thank you for showing interest!

Felt like I should explain the gameplay a bit more clearly. The main mode of interaction the player has is the control of two veins that the gets shot out of the heart. These veins then attach themselves to any object (walls, roof, floor or furniture) that might be in the way. As the veins starts to pull on the object the physics come in and calculates whether the heart will move towards the object or if the object will move towards the heart. This very quickly leads to chaos and the chaos goes up exponentially related to the amount of players in the room.

This basic gameplay can be used in several ways, both co-op and vs modes. The first one we implemented was a co-op mode where you have to refurbish a room. It might sound very easy but that depends on your friends and how much everyone f-s around.
