Dear all, I am modeling the solar system as it can be seen from a spaceship and would like to give the sun its corona. Currently, my sun is modeled as a sphere with a self-illuminated shader, and it contains a light which illuminates the whole solar system. My first guess was to add a very big halo to the internal light (because the sun model is quite big), but it does not seem a good solution (basically, whenever my spaceship is too near to the sun, the halo is not shown). Any ideas about how I can get this glow permanently visible? Of course, any suggestions about how to improve the whole setting are welcome. Thank you and happy new year :)
I would use a flare... Go to your sun object and click components/rendering/lens flare.
There are some flare that are included in the standard packages folder. you might have to change the brightness in the component and change the size in the data file to get the correct result though.
hope this helps!
