Hey I’m creating a simple platformer, minimalistic design. The main idea is difficulty, All levels have traps. You can complete levels only if you trying again and again, it is for gamers who likes difficult challenges.
There is 3 demo levels:

-_- That’s not challenge, in fact, that’s simply trolling. A challenge is when it’s fair. Cheap kills via invisible deaths and things you can’t possibly foresee make it a bad game.
It’s only really a “challenge” game when it’s fair. A learn the level game isn’t a challenge, it’s simply a memory game. This type of game will attract people wanting to punk their friends, and that’s it. If it’s truely challenging and fair, then you’ll get a following otherwise, you’d be lucky to go viral for a month or so. -_- This type of game is only annoying. Invisible death pits, stuff falling from the ceiling at so fast a rate it can only be avoided if you know it’s there, invisible hit boxes that trap you, all of this is not a challenge, but just memorization.
That said, there are some issues beside my opinion on whether it should be called a challenge game or a trolling game, there’s at least one issue that plagues many games. Jumping towards a wall and holding that direction makes you stick to it. Beside that, the controls do feel solid, and that’s odd since it’s a spinning box.
I say keep at it, but remove the trolling crap. Just make the jumps hard, add things like fans or something that push you around, etc. Take out the cheap crap.
Sorry if I sounded like a jerk in my last post. It just frustrates me when people think that killing someone a lot, even with cheap deaths, means that it’s “challenging”. As stated, the mechanics are solid (except the sticking to walls thing), so keep at it, just make it actually challenging rather then just being a kill machine.
I was going to disagree with this, but after reading further I’d have to agree. The controls are solid and I personally think you should aim more for reactionary challenges. Like the pit trap. Since you can still escape if you jump fast enough.
