i’m getting some feedback from users that the intro video for my game is not playing, instead it displays “this movie format is not supported” and then continues. the format is H264 Quicktime
It plays fine for most people but a couple came back with this. any ideas?
thanks
The device has a maximum playback rate, and ideally you should also use a particular resolution.
Any more details on how you encoded it?
the framerate is at 24fps and resolution is 480 x 320.
I encoded direct from after effects as a Export>quicktime H.264, data rate was set to automatic and quality level was somewhere around 85%. audio set to mono at 44.100 KHz
the length of the video is 31 seconds and the data size is;
video track 4.16 MB
sound track 2.65 MB
seems like a odd ratio of audio to video size.
thanks for the help
optimally you would pull it through itunes and create an iphone version, that ensures that it is the correct format and codec
didn’t think of that… thanks
so i tried to run it through itunes to make what i’d hope to be a iphone compatible version but what i get is what looks to be a reference of the original QT.
whats the work flow for exporting the iphone version to a stand alone .mov?
thanks
