video player loses sync with audio - is it ever reliable?

the very basics doesn’t even work: it goes out of sync with audio very easily if something’s loading a scene asynchronously
is anyone using this in production or should i move to greener (a.k.a non Unity) pastures?

You need to dole out some cash for a commercial version.
Relying 0n timing with the Unity Video Player is not what it’s there for.
Look in the Store. There are cheap assets which auto synch to the beat.
“Sound Reactor” is one but there are cheaper ones too.
Some have the equivalent of a multi stage equaliser so you can choose which frequency to synch to.
Trying to do this manually is heart breaking indeed!!

i am talking about sync between the video clips’ audio and video

Yes, thanks,I realised that. My answer still stands. If not then maybe you should explain better?
Do you mean actors playing in time with the music for maybe say 64 beats then losing timing?
Or what?

linearly:
a video clip is playing in the video player
the video and audio of the clip are in sync
a scene starts loading async with activateonload=false priority= low
the video stutters (it shouldn’t since 2ms/frame is nothing but that’s another video player bug)
after stuttering the audio and the video of the clip are out of sync
