Video textures and uvs

Dear all,

I try to map a video on an imported object that has uv coordinates, but the video doesn’t respect the uvs and is not tiled.

In the next picture, you can see the video displayed one time and then stretched when it should be tiled.

Any ideas what’s up with video textures?

Thanks a lot,
Pascal

Set your texture’s wrap mode to repeat instead of clamp. This is not peculiar to video textures.

Thanks Daniel,

I was thinking as well that it was question of the “clamp/repeat” mode, but in the inspector panel there is no option to switch as for classic 2D textures.

Is there may be an other place where to set up the repeat mode?

Pascal.

Weird. Wrap mode is a member of Texture, so it should work if you set it via script. I’ll take a look at MovieTextures in Unity 3 today, and bug report it if that’s still missing.

Great thanks Daniel

I just get unity 3 and I tested the video texture but it looks like the wrap mode option is still missing.

Any Idea how to script that function?

Thanks,
Pascal

Here’s the script reference for wrap mode:

Thanks

Dear aNTeNNa trEE,

I’m still trying to apply video textures properly, and if I can now tiled them, there are some black strips that appears between instances and are not in the original video.
I was thinking that it could come because video textures are not multiple of 2 and I was wondering if you know may be a way how to solve it using a script?

Thanks a lot,
Pascal

Textures with non-power-of-two dimensions always behave differently on 3D objects. Your best bet is to start with POT dimensions, because they’ll be rescaled somehow anyway.
