I dont like this as an error because in some cases clients may deactivate a network view on purpose on a client.
I have this error in networking and I cant get rid of it because i am deactivating some network views on purpose.
I know sometimes such a thing is a real error, but why do we have to have it pop up when its part of the game design?
I know everyone is going to say Unity can not know your game design. But I wish I could tell Unity not to show this error in the console for my game.
“View ID AllocatedID: 53 not found during lookup. Strange behaviour may occur” - not true I deactivate the server and clients on purpose but due to a time delay between the client and server a few of these packets make it through. I can code around this but its going to be a days worth of code to clean my game of a meaningless error.
Oh well such is life. Sorry for the bitching.
then make it easy:
send the rpc that requests disable on the server, then disable it and upon receiving on the client, disable it and you should have no “asyncronity issue”
would love to say yes, but no, just pragmatic and a follower of the “if there is an easy way, why make it hard” patterns
Im having the same issue MBO has having. Ido also think you´re a genius, but since im far from being one, i tried over and over and never solved my asyncronity problem.
Can you please help me dreamora?
Ill try to give a brief description:
In my game you can make your opponent bleed.
In this bleed function i send an RPC informing the spot you are bleeding(all combat is calculated localy and then sent to the harmed one).
I get the same issue cause i disable the harmed one, once hes dead, and i get those same messages about AllocatedID not found during lookup, but only on the client that is seding the bleed spot.
I tried following your advices and probably failed on the process cause no matter how i tried to disable the function i just cant seem to make it on time.
Please if u have any sugestions i would be awesomely thankfull.
Thx and hugs!
are you sure you are disabling it in the right order?
server → all that have it
Well im almost 100% sure that yes. But i kinda solve part of the problem by never deativating the views in the server since its dedicated. But the problem still persist with the non-dedicated version.
