I didn’t know where else to put this, so here goes:
The Flashbang crew seem to have uploaded their iPhone gameplay videos at the actual resolution of an iPhone. My video, when I upload it, is in 400x300 and has big black spaces at the top and bottom. How do I upload a video with a specific size setting?
One note about Vimeo: I read recently on the GG forums that it seems Vimeo is not fond of video game footage. A couple of Torque owners stated that their accounts had been deleted, with the explanation being (post-account-deletion), basically, game-video == no-no.
It was also stated that GG talked to Vimeo before GG started posting official product videos and, thus, have an understanding with Vimeo.
Vimeo seems cool, but I’d read their TOS carefully and/or probably contact them just to clarify that, hey, this is video footage of games I’m developing, not games I’m just playing.
FWIW
Vimeo is concerned about copyright. They definitely don’t want footage of gameplay for commercial games.
You can get away with a tutorial for your own game.
If you want your video in HD it has to be uploaded at HD resolution.
The upload API is somewhat broken IMO. You can’t do it in one step. You script part of the upload, browse a page to get a token, and then finalize the upload.
