Hello everyone. I represent the 2010 Web3D Art and Design Retrospective (a subgroup of ACM’s Web3D Consortium). We are requesting submissions of innovative online virtual art, produced by students or recent graduates in the past 3 years.
This is a great opportunity to showcase your talents in front of veteran designers and industry leaders, as well as fellow artists. I have attached a pdf for anyone interested in more detail.
You may also direct any questions you may have to me at willis.web3d@gmail.com. Thank you all.
You might want to look up a piece called ‘The graveyard’, it’s famous for being an outstanding piece of Unity-based artwork.
I suppose the inclusion of Second Life in the brief is to be expected and I look forward to seeing some x3D-based artwork as the consensus is that, whilst being a ‘standard’, it is unusable by professional content developers (due to it’s lack of desire to compete with the likes of more recent browser-based 3d content delivery systems). That, and everything is an exercise in improvisation. It would take much talent to produce something ‘outstanding’ on that platform.
