Unity Editor 6000.0.21
With the Scene View visible my CPU usage keeps at 48-50%, any project, any scene (empty or not doesn’t matters).
If I close the Scene View or open another tab in the same viewport, CPU drops to 1-4%.
Minimizing the Editor window does not help too, but in previous Unity versions it had reduced the amount of CPU used.
Check or change the “Interaction Mode”. This is either in Project Settings under Editor or in Preferences under General or Editor.
There’s also buttons in the scene view toolbar that allow you to change vsync behaviour which may affect CPU usage.

Thanks! I’ve set it to Display refresh rate (16ms) and CPU went down to 7-8%. Seems like the Default option is hiding something brutal for my 10-y.o. potato PC.
