How is the smaller file size for iOS coming along? Is Pax back on it? And how much approximately will it cost?
kind regards,
Simon

I still wait for him, but hope on days. The price not will be more 50$
Neodrop I think you are a nice guy so I got a few suggestions for you, while I am not your customer sadly (I went with PlayMaker and uScript) I think you can take a few lessons from looking at your competitorās product which are more well thought out.
vs
Think of it this way, the people who buys your product are almost definitely designers (not coders, or else they would just code) who are very visual people. Looking at graphs and trying to visually making sense of the code is like looking at the instrumental panel of a space station. If every button and switch are all just text labels (even emergency buttons, power on buttons) with same grey color (so its almost same color as the metal) do you think the astronaut can get anything done? They would be spending so much time reading the labels they canāt get anything done. Not to mention if there is an emergency, time is running out and you are trying to find the eject button but its in a maze of 1000 buttons all text labels all looks the sameā¦
Even most of the IDE (Integrated development environment) like Microsoft Visual Studio color coded the syntax nowadays (āSyntax highlightingā) so its easier to pick out than if all of the code are all same black color text.
These are just the stuff I found, I really REALLY want to like Antare Universe, but until it become more functional and more thought out and user friendly, I canāt put my money down on this one yet. Thanks for listening ![]()
As owner of all 3 (and beta tester of uScript) I agree up to a given point bawss ![]()
The coloring definitely needs work in Universe, its not visually readable commonly without comment boxes, which is pretty time consuming.
There is one point though where I clearly favor Universe approach over uScript: uScript forces you to make dummy variables even for direct forwarding, which is hell annoying (and leads to less optimized code as its not just a relay invoke) if you didnāt want to store it in form of a named variable or use as input for more than one node.
uScript? or do you mean Antare Universe?
I found uScript highly readable, I can zoom out and still understand whatās going on without having to zoom in just to read the text label. Thatās the beauty of color coding.
naturally I mean Universe ![]()
Fixed that
I agree, especially that Neodrop is a nice guy.
Sure for my next works Iāll use one of Universe or uScript.
From what Iāve seen, as former user of Quest3D, both systems seem a bit confusing visually, although uScript seems more readable and less intimidating. I am not saying I prefer the colorful. At first glance I prefer the apparent sobriety of Universe, but uScript has chosen a rather discreet color palette that does not bother me.
I do not know yet which I will choose, because both have advantages and disadvantages difficult to compare, but certainly Universe would benefit from aesthetic review.
Also maybe links to represent horizontally execution flow add links uScript not need. Maybe a color or thickness difference between both might help.
Maybe a colored version of the Strumpy Shader Editor would be nice, although Universe is necessarily more complex.
I think they need to be curved, since the data flow links link out of the bottom to the top of nodes that are aside.
LOL, talk about Quest 3D I canāt believe it is DEAD! Its staying at v4 for a long time now.
I think Unity killed it ! ![]()
UNITY POOWWAAA!
I think at one stage (few years ago just before Quest3D v3.5 came out) I was really seriously thinking to buy Quest3D Power Editionā¦(even had my credit card outā¦but then back out at the last moment)⦠lucky for me I didnāt or all that money would have been wasted. ![]()
Out of all the āvisual programmingā game development kit, I found Unity + uScript + PlayMaker the most appealing to me. Virtools and Quest3D were probably the pioneers but for some reason Quest3D is dead now. Virtools on the other hand seems to be not doing that much better largely due to they miss out on the iPhone/Android boat and also being highly unaffordable (something like $9999 last time I checked).
I think grasshopper has one of the best line types, the lines change based on the kind of data being moved.
either solid, colored, or dotted.
Grasshopper? Is that for Rhinoceros 3D? I havenāt touch Rhino for years I didnāt even know they have something like that now.
Guys (I am da Bawss ), why you show so old screens (from very early beta-stage) ? Universe last few month have a lots of icons for every Unity types. But you donāt see it?
Well, looking here. (Unity - type icons user-defined shortcut variables almost everywhere) :
Or like this ?
Or here you can see the working process. Just look in HD how you can create your own node with any complexity functionality right from other visual nodes. (In russian, but almost translated) :
Just open your eyes. My target is Runtime Debugging, Limitless functionality and fast execution speed, but not Cheerful pictures.
Wants more ? Well - download and try it for free.
And I can add user-defined color for every node with 5 lines of code. But Iām not sure what users need it, cose no one asked about it.
Need a visual markers ? We have it :
Note
Stickers
Arrow markers
for it. Also I will add custom colors and pictures for Containers. But a bit later.
I donāt think you understand me Neodrop.
I am talking about the ānodesā (they are all gray).
Picture from you from above: (so its as up to date as you claim)
If a user has to be result to put color sticky notes and arrow just to understand his own code, its a fail for user usability for your program (Not to mention EXTRA WORK). If you donāt believe me, just load up your most complex project, and then zoom out so you see all your nodes in one view. Can you still make out whatās going on? Or is it just all a gray mess?
This is what it looks like to designer
I am just joking!
But its almost like thatā¦
I am sure you have seen this in real life - machines that are so badly design a worker has to put color sticky notes and draw arrows on the machine so they know how to operate it. Can you imagine your car instead of a steering wheel you get 1000 buttons all looks the same, and you have to put color sticky notes and draw arrows just so you know how to operate it? ![]()
I am just suggesting, if you color your nodes into categories (BRIGHT COLORS!), so its easier to understand and read whatās going on than having to zoom in individually to examine whatās going on, it will improve your user usability.
No one from hundreds of my users ask for it.
But, thank you for your advice and opinion. I will thinking about it.
The main features of Universe now is Containers. Itās will be very handy and widely customizable.
I donāt want to make a Circus from my working environment. But if somebody find it helpful, I will provide the tools for it.
Its a valid point of view. syntax highlighting for nodes would be really appreciated.
But not random colors like in uScript. I think Universe could follow the same rules of scripting IDEs.
For each type of node a specific color with possibility to change them like IDE themes.
Edit: Iām a user of the full version and me too think this would make life easier.
BTW - Just imagine : Dotnet has a thousand of classes and Unity has a few hundreds.
How you look to color it all separately ?
Itās very easy task in general, but, I do not see a clear idea how to arrange it by color groups. Help me a bit ![]()
Yeah, I was wondering about it. I know uScript donāt even get close to stuff like dotnet, neither full Unityās full functionality as well, so if we can color our Universeās containers its a speed boost already.
Well, with help of Bruno, here we go :
Also, a bit later will be added a custom images for Containers.
This settings will be stored in Containers prefab but can be changed for any copy Individually.
Neodrop, you rock! ![]()
