Might be useful. Would love to see a playable demo though.
I could put one together if you explained what you mean by a demo.
Do you mean, as in, just a build of that scene in the video so you can try it yourself, or something else?
Personally I want to see more videos of you working with different aspect of this visual novel script.
Again, depends on what you mean by “working with”, so I can do exactly what you want to see me do for the video.
If you mean a more complex scene that shows everything I can do with it, I can do that.
Sure, a webplayer build of what you had in the video would work.
I also agree with OmniverseProductions. Maybe just show us how easy it is to use by doing something basic like how you set up the scene in the video from scratch. Or maybe other things that weren’t in the video such as “allow the player to make choices” (in your product description) ← this would be important for me. What happens when you make choices? Is there a way to trigger flags depending on the choice? Stuff like that.
Things like that will help your potential customers like me, who’s very interested in the product but still on the fence because I just don’t know how it works yet based on the video.
Thanks and good luck.
Thanks for the feedback, guys.
I’ll put that stuff together in between studying for exams and will post here again when I’m done.
Very very interesting…
I would like to know/see how it works with the movement of the characters !?! Synchronisation with voices !?!

Oh, those? Simple enough to explain.
Character movement is only supported for entering and exiting. Entering moves a character in from the side of the screen until the sprite stops in place. Said position is a calculation of the screen size, the size of the image, and (for far left and far right) the size of the characters set to left and right at any given moment. Having a character exit makes them move to the closest side of the screen until they’re out of view, then nulls that position, making no character appear in that spot until you set it again. Exactly how one does this is explained in the readme.
That said, you can simulate other movements yourself with some creativity, by which I mean that you can repeatedly set the same character to a slightly different image in lines back to back to make an animation, since each line in the text file you set is essentially a single frame (aside from those that stop the progression until you have user input). The limitation to that is that you can’t do that at the same time as the character’s sprite is entering/exiting, nor at the same time as a line is appearing in the text box or when the options are being displayed, but you can (for example) have a character enter and use this trick to have a short animation once they reach their final position, then proceed to other stuff.
Having voices play at the same time as the textboxes is simple. You have the text file say to play the voice clip, and have the next line in the text file set to display the line. The voice clip will play as the line appears a letter at a time, and pressing space to move to the next line stops the voice clip so you don’t have multiple clips impeding on each other.
I’ve added a download link for anyone who wants to try the scene in the video to the product description, since I have nowhere I can host a webplayer version.
I’ve been making small fixes here and there, since I’ve only gotten one solitary download.
I’ve now added a prefab that would save you some of the setup time. I quite literally cannot make it easier to set up anymore.
I’ve cut the price in half for a week. Hopefully, someone will actually bother with this when the price point is $5.
EDIT: Sale cancelled. Nobody’s been picking it up at all. It’ll be over as soon as the asset store changes the price back to $10.
Maybe you should show something really new. Because it’s look like something that can be done from draft pretty quickly.
Need to be honest, it looks very very bad , you need something that looks half way decent to expect money for it .
